Africa-Press – Lesotho. Motor entertainment company, Sleek rides Lesotho last week Sunday donated grocery to ‘Manthabiseng children’s home, an orphanage in Maseru East. Speaking at the event, the company Secretary General Lehlohonolo Takalimane emphasized that it has not been long since their existence as a company but they have already decided to exercise one of their roles of giving back to the community.
A role which he said they could not wait to be richer as a company to fulfill it. “With the little that we have, I think we can bring a notable change to the lives of the vulnerable children and this is a way of starting,” he said.
To execute their idea of donating to the orphanage, he said they worked in partnership with Sekhametsi Development Trust as their main financial sponsor.
According to Takalimane, ‘Manthabiseng is the first orphanage they have worked with since December last year. However he said as the company grows, they will go even further in helping the orphans and vulnerable kids in need of help.
Meanwhile, Oupa Ratšolo who is a social worker at the orphanage said: “We sincerely thank sleek rides Lesotho and Sekhametsi for what they have done for us.
Not many stand such chances like us, therefore we consider ourselves blessed and we thank God for his grace upon us. ” He mentioned that Manthabiseng is a home to 32 children of which some are in crèche, some in primary while others are already in high school.
To take care of and satisfy these children, he said it has always been a big challenge which he said Sleek Rides has recently helped them to conquer by their donations.
Sekhametsi representative Motlatsi Mokatsi said the idea of donating was of Sleek Rides who presented the idea to them seeking for help. “Being also concerned about giving back to community, we bought the idea without doubt. Today is the beginning of a good journey and we hope it goes on and on amicably,” he continued.
