Africa-Press – Lesotho. Thabiso Mosakeng, popularly known as Sniper announced the release of his upcoming album – ‘Beyond’ on December 15th. Since his venturing in the music industry, Sniper has
released singles and Extended Plays (EPs) as well as music videos that gained him recognition and exposure in the industry. The most notable of his successes
include his collaboration with the Ultimate Radio, making singles for their Breakfast show in 2014. In an exclusive interview with Informative Arts&Lifestyle,
Sniper indicated that his upcoming album will be launched on 19th December. He said it comprises of 12 songs, the likes of ‘Intro/interlude where he features Slayer.
He clarified that the tittle ‘Beyond’ stems from his believe that he has reached further than the rhythm and poetry concerning Hip hop music. Having joined the music industry in 2004, the Koalabata born
artist revealed that he had to pause recordings as they were interrupting with his studies but later rejoined the industry in 2010. He conveyed that he got
inspiration from Famo musicians; the likes of Matsie, Khopolo and Famole. In November 2010, Sniper publicized his first EP called ‘Back again’ signifying his reversion into the music industry.
His publications include the November 2011 track, ‘Just like’, ‘Rhyme infested’ and ‘Ey hey’ in March 2016. He released another EP titled ‘Mama I miss you’ in November 2019 followed
by ‘Hona joale’ which was released in July 2020 during the national lockdown. His most recent EP was issued on October 4th, named ‘Ke hopotse hae’ which he released when he was in South Africa
during the Covid-19 induced lockdown. Sniper said the EP was influenced by his patriotism for his home country. Also, he signified that he was trying to portray a message that he missed home.
Sniper urged fellow artists to be real and try to be themselves at all times and to create a unique signature for their music. He stood against imitation and encouraged that they should always have a room for critics to open doors for growth.
