Africa-Press – Lesotho. Founded by siblings, Makhebe Seatlana and Theresia Seatlana, Sotho kids Culture Agency celebrated three years of existence with an award ceremony to appreciate the
models and artists who have been with the agency since its foundation. According to Sotho Kids Culture Agency Co-founder Makhebe Seatlana, the occasion was for
the models who have been with the agency since 2019 and to celebrate the brand that is growing very fast and helping Basotho youth to defeat depression.
He further highlighted that the awards had five categories which included artist of the year won by Omali Themba, female model of the year won by Tšepang
Khuze, male model of the year awarded to Pule Tšira, best new comer award won by Limpho Sehalahala, and the most hardworking model awarded to Sebabatso Litlali.
As the only agency focused on Basotho culture, improving the lives of the youth through their engagement in promoting culture. Sotho Kids Culture also engages in
different things such as dramatization, poetry and dance. However, modelling remains its core mandate. Makhebe revealed to Arts&Lifestyle that the name Sotho Kids is derived from the
word Lesotho/Basotho/Sesotho and because he is working with the youth he embedded the word kids hence the name Sotho kids. “We are diehard patriots, promoting the culture of Basotho while still exploring
talents. Everything we do is Lesotho/Basotho rooted because we need to practice Sesotho more than other cultures. I want to create a platform where youth are able to live through their
talents. My vision is to see Sotho Kids known across the world and even accessible and available in the 10 districts of Lesotho. Modelling is a career
not just a hobby,” he concluded. Sotho Kids Culture Agency is a modelling agency aimed at promoting Basotho culture and to also create creative jobs for unemployed youth, a stage where they can showcase their skills and talents.
