Africa-Press – Lesotho. SportsXpress management will present the inaugural SportXpress Sports Awards scheduled for October 2021. In preparation for this encouraging act, the organising team
opened for nominations under different categories, this ending on October 24th. As clarified in their press release dated August 17th, the awarding journey
started with nominations of all sports stars in their respective categories and the dominies who will get most vote will be crowned with awards at the end of
October. SportXpress Awards have 16 different categories which are; sport man and woman of the year, young athlete of the year, sport man and woman with disability of the year, team and coach of the year, referee or umpire of
the year, media personnel of the year, sporting moment of the year, fan of the year, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the or communications officer of the
year, development team of the year, match of the year, life time achievers and lastly sports star of the year. Each category consists of five dominies.
In an interview with SportXpress Marketing Manager Tšeliso Kheleli, it was communicated that SportXpress in an online sports publication that offer 75 percent of local sports content and 25 percent international sports
content. “SportXpress Sports Awards will act as a token of appreciation to the hard work of sports personnel, additionally the aim of this awards giving is to
promote the sports in the country by boosting sportsman spirit in every individual,” said Kheleli. SportXpress Marketing Manager outlined that awards offerings encourage
players. “Any kind of sports reward motivates sportsmen to do better next time, so presenting this award will also influence the winners to be recognised in
the society, consequently the society will follow and support sports activities through various ways. Apart from that, receiving an award earns one a good
reputation among community members thus that lead to improved sports. “We are happy to announce that the panel of experts/auditors have been engaged and have been mandated with the verification of all votes and
ensure the credibility of the voting process. Votes will therefore be announced later at the closing date,” reads the statement. Kheleli further informed that the awards are proudly
sponsored by Global Marketing Agency, which assisted mostly with communications digital means as it helped with dissemination of information through the use of short messaging service. He urged sports fans to vote and raise the spirit and motive for sports in the country.
