Africa-Press – Lesotho. Residents of the Stadium Area constituency will tomorrow launch a community based project aimed at kick-starting small scale vegetable farming, cleaning surroundings as well as maintaining their roads.
Through the Stadium Area Service Providers Cooperative Society (Ltd) that will be launched at the Memorial Hall, in Maseru, dwellers have earmarked several service provision activities they intend to offer to community members within the constituency.
The newly registered project will cover the villages of Stadium Area, Moshoshoe II, Seapoint, Thibella and Pitso Ground, within the Maseru Municipality Council 005.
In the main, the villagers are focused cleaning services, environment and road maintenance, gardening and landscaping, vegetable farming as well as care and education on HIV/AIDS.
“The main objectives of the cooperative is to create employment, eradicate poverty and take full advantage of the opportunities presented by our geographical location,”, said secretary Serobanyane Letsoela.
