Africa-Press – Lesotho. Standard Lesotho Bank has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the untimely demise of Kenrick Cockerill who succumbed to illness in October last year.
As a result, Anton Nicolaisen, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective from March 1. This is the second appointment since the resignation of former CEO, Mpho Vumbukani, in September 2019.
Vumbukani had joined the bank in 2011 and was the first Mosotho to be appointed to this position. “The Board of Directors of Standard Lesotho Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Anton Nicolaisen as the new Chief Executive Officer of Standard Lesotho Bank.
The appointment follows the untimely demise of Mr Kenrick Cockerill, who succumbed to illness on 20 October 2020,” the bank said in a statement. Thabiso Ntseki has been acting in the position of the CEO while the recruitment process for a substantive candidate was underway.
“Mr Nicolaisen has a successful 32- year career history with the Standard Bank Group.
He fulfilled a number of key leadership roles within the bank and has proven skills and abilities to lead a financial services organization in the stature of Standard Lesotho bank.
We look forward to fully tapping his leadership skills to enhance our customer experiences,” the bank explained in a statement. In his previous appointment, Nicolaisen was the Provincial Head, Client Coverage at Standard Bank South Africa, responsible for Free State and Northern Cape provinces.
