Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Ministry of Health has received M1.3 million worth of electrical equipment from the African Union on Monday. The purpose of this material is to assist in compiling lists of information on the Corona virus epidemic.
The Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Doctor ‘Nyane Letsie, speaking on receipt of the goods, explained that this was not the first item they received from the Organization of African Unity.
Letsie said they were receiving a variety of goods for different health services, and that they had so far received 157 devices. He indicated that the equipment would be a support system that the department had requested.
“The public should be kept abreast of Corona issues and with this equipment, the process of communication with them will be much easier to help them follow the rules to protect themselves against this epidemic,” he said.
Letsie pointed out that putting the disease under control is a matter of priority for them as a joint venture with the National Corona Control Council and they should be equipped to achieve this.
The director of the Church Health Center Association, Ms Makatleho Mohasi, said it was a great honor for them as an organization for their partnership with the Ministry of Health to help manage donations from the Organization of African Unity.
.
“This is a great support coming to us as a country as during this time of the Corona epidemic our country was very much at a disadvantage in communicating with Corona news,” he said. He said with the support of these assets, they would be able to close the gaps that had arisen in the past.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Mr Khothatso Tshoana, said they were very grateful as a department for these gifts which will help them to do their job of compiling lists correctly which is one of the biggest challenges they have always had.
“At the end of the day we will be able to determine the number of people who have been vaccinated in Corona,” he said. He went on to say that these modern techniques help them to have the right collection or collection of programs. He appealed to all those who will use the equipment to make good use of it so that this public service can be fully realized.
