Africa-Press – Lesotho. Deputy Minister of Water Affairs Mr Lepota Sekola inaugurated the water supply in four Makhaleng villages on Wednesday. These villages include Ha-Raboletsi, Ha-Sematle, Ha-Motjotji and Ha-Rapokolana.

Shout out to Honorable Sekola this launch is part of the Ministry of Water Affairs’ major project of water supply to the community. The Chief of Ha-Raboletsi, King Patso Toloane, pointed out that Mr.

Sekola was aware of the thirst of his people and said that with their happiness it would not be unfortunate enough for the whole community to have enough water.

He asked the contractor to work in the area even if they did not know him, but to do a perfect job that would benefit them as a community and that after this water supply would be followed by electricity.

Local Government Candidate, Makhaleng Mr Rethabile Leneha said he was leading more than 29 villages in need of water. He asked that even if half of the villages were allotted he would be grateful.

Leneha said they walked more than four kilometers in search of water, pointing out that the situation put them at risk of attack. “Furthermore, it is not good to see school children released during school hours due to water shortages, and I am grateful that I see children who will be getting water,” said Leneha.

In an exclusive interview with The Voice of the Nation, Leneha pointed out that the current supply is almost as old as 30 years, and asked that resources be renewed or integrated to make better capacity.

“We drink unsafe water because we end up picking up wetlands.

Furthermore some of the problems in this area are dark, and crimes occur due to the need for electricity, and other access roads have made it another major problem as we travel long distances to services.

, ”He explained.

He said the solution to these issues would be if the central government could devolve power to the people through local government councils because we are always crying together with the people.

The Deputy Minister of Water Affairs and Makhaleng Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Lepota Sekola has promised a local government candidate to respond to the public outcry.

“Not long ago I received an invitation from this local water committee to discuss the same issues of water demand and told them that I would work hard to ensure that water is installed in this area, and it is happening today, ”Said Sekola.

“Now is the time for me to focus on the horns as I have played a major role in other areas, villages that have not yet received water supply in our area such as Liphakoeng, Dinizulu, Ha-Moitšupeli, Ha-Ramabanta and standing with it.

I’m coming to it. It is especially my wish that even the Ha-tlali health center has access to water and that I will address that issue, ”Sekola explained.

He also presented to the public the contractor responsible for water supply in the Maseru area as a whole and was responsible for managing the water supply in the area. He has proven the quality of the contractor in other supplements that he is dealing with as in the Semonkong area.

He asked the contractor to work with the natives of the area he is working on so that they too can take advantage of the improvements that are taking place in their area.

The Minister of Public Works and Thaba-Puuwa Constituency Member of Parliament, Honorable Lebohang Monaheng, commenting on the issues as a native, thanked the community for this positive initiative as during this time of the Corona virus epidemic for the people to wash their hands, he said, and the question was what to wash with water. Monaheng concluded by advising the community to conserve this clean water improvement as it has been brought to their advantage.
