Africa-Press – Lesotho. The World Vision Foundation has donated 1.08 million rifles to the Ministry of Health as a supplement to the fight against Covid-19. The coffins were received at the Ministry of Health Headquarters on ‘Monday
The Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Ms. Nyane Letsie, reported that for several years now the organization has been working hard to support the Ministry of Health and strengthen it in the field of public health care.
He said in particular it supports them in a low level where most people get services. “We have to be careful against Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, so we can’t say these bugs are enough.
We need to use them properly and dispose of them where necessary, which is why we need so much in a special way. We are here where we are today as a country at this time of the disease thanks to the support we have received from donors.
We will make sure that the public health measures continue until the Basotho community is safe from this and other infectious diseases. Letsie said they would also make sure that the worms were distributed properly so that all those who would need them would receive them separately from community health workers.
The Director General of World Vision Lesotho James Chifwelu in his address said that the organisation’s mission is to further its commitment to serve the community. He said this is not the first time World Vision has done something like this to help in the fight against Covid-19.
“We are also committed to educating the public about the disease, spreading the message and following the rules and regulations of the fight against it and informing them of the importance of vaccinating against the virus,” Chifwelu said.
He said the vaccines would be distributed in all districts of the country by the Ministry of Health and appealed to health workers to make good use of them. In addition, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Khothatso Tshoana, on behalf of the Minister of Health, Hon.
He said World Vision was instrumental in the training of life skills for girls under the age of 18 and to see that health facilities exist like Lenkoane Hospital in Berea district.
“At a time when the country is facing many challenges of the disease it contributed to the production of vaccination cards.
This is a great testament to the fight against the disease, so World Vision has shown the way to be an example to all and to donors the world at large to help the sector overcome this epidemic, ”he said.
He also called on officials to protect the property, to achieve its intended purpose in the institutions as well as for the health workers in the villages and towns.
