Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) had officially launched its Diaspora Committee for the first time following the election of committee members in Bloemfontein.
Speaking at the launch, RFP Secretary General Ms.Nthati Moorosi revealed that representation for the election came from five provinces instead of the anticipated nine.
She stated that delegates were drawn from North West, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Free State.
Ms. Moorosi further indicated that the overall voting roll for the committee comprised of 55 participants explaining that the Diaspora Committee is one of five committees established in line with the RFP Constitution, serving as a key structural mechanism to promote inclusion and representation of Basotho living outside the country.
Meanwhile, RFP leader Mr.Ntsokoane Matekane highlighted the challenges faced by Basotho residing in South Africa citing cross-border issues, Passport related complications and limited employment opportunities as some of the pressing concerns negatively impacting Basotho.
In conclusion, Mr. Matekane noted that the establishment of the Diaspora Committee will facilitate smoother communication between the party and Basotho in the diaspora, ensuring that their concerns are effectively addressed and represented within party structures.
