Africa-Press – Lesotho. Maseru, July 21 — At least three females are facing murder trials while 28 male are also facing the same charge in all the Correctional institutions in the country in the statistics released by the Lesotho Correctional Institutions between July 08 to 12 this year.
Paralegal Office in the Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS), Chief Officer Bokang Ramotena told the Agency that these inmates are in detention awaiting trial.
She said there are 10 other inmates who are facing sexual offenses, while seven are charged with bribery, five face assault cases and another five are in detention for robbery, six others face common theft, and one is a young female while five are males.
Chief Officer Ramotena said there are also five inmates facing house breaking charges three of which are young females and two are young males and that there are three males facing illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
