Africa-Press – Lesotho. The talented Maseru-born hip hop lyricist, Unkle Krack, has released a brand new single titled Run It. The single dropped on June 16 in honor of the fallen heroes of the Soweto Uprising in 1976.
Run It
is a single that expresses his ambition and determination to make a difference in the music industry, from Africa to the world.
The rapper’s freedom of expression is clearly observed in his music as he is skilled in making commercials, yet relatable in his music for all genders, age groups and ethnic groups.
The inspiration behind this song is derived from the artist’s need to take over the hip hop industry and showcase his talent to the world. Born Neo Malea (27), Unkle Krack started his music career in 2009 but only released
his first mix tape in 2017, a 15-track project titled Changes, which details how he ended up in the music industry. With this single, the artist encourages young people to stop asking for permission to live their dreams and just take over. When the COVID19 lockdown occurred, Unkle Krack fell into depression on account of not being certain of how he would put bread on the table.
However, he took a conscious decision to focus on mastering his craft and use social media to make a living. This single further denotes that no matter the challenge or fight people go through, it is important to keep the show going and make sure that you run it! His style is unapologetic, fresh, and interchanges culturally, which emphasizes the power behind his diversity and colour.
