Africa-Press – Lesotho. Even though they are chanting, it is not that they applaud their team but are urged by the pressure to win six points and eventually the league, but things are not going as they hoped”.

LCS Head Coach Shalane Lehohla had said after they shared spoils with Matlama during the Vodacom Premier League (VPL), second leg games for 2021/22 season.

Since the beginning of the season, Matlama has not matched any of the VPL teams being the only team that had won all its games from last year. But their loss against Linare seem to have marked the beginning of their tragedy.

Following their 2-0 loss against Linare, Matlama have experienced three draws. Matlama is one of the biggest teams in the Premier League with 68 points and had made its debut in setting one of the best margins in history as it mostly appeared in the top 5 Premier League teams.

The Premier league records from the year 2006 until present state that Matlama managed to be the champions of the Premier League twice. It took championship for the 2009/10 VPL season and 2018/19 Econet Premier League (EPL) season.

The other good margin was set by Lioli and LCS thus being the best competing Premier League teams aiming to be on top of one another. If it happens to win, Matlama will take championship the third time since 2006.

At the present moment, football fans are grossing fingers for either LCS or Lioli. LCS has won 2006/07, 2007/08, 2010/2011 and 2011/12 VPL seasons whereas Lioli has won 2008/09, 2012/13, 2014/15 and 2015/16 VPL seasons, which made both to be on the first position on the league standing.

However, Bantu is on the second place with three Premier League wins. They won 2016/17 EPL, 2017/18 EPL and 2013/14 VPL champions, making Matlama to be on the third place with 2009/10 VPL championship and 2018/19 EPL championship.
