Women donate equipment to school

Africa-Press – Lesotho. PONTŠO ea Lerato, an association of women, donated M10 000 worth of playing equipment to the Hoohlo Primary School on Tuesday last week. Speaking at the handover ceremony, the association’s coordinator Nthabiseng Maretlane said their mission is to help needy people, families, groups and organisations.

The association, Maretlane said, was established in 2017 by 14 women united to make a difference in their communities. “We are still seeking to have more local women.

’’ The association’s activities are funded by subscriptions from members.

It is from those monthly subscriptions of M100 that the association managed to buy a double swing and slide for children under seven. They also donated balls, fruits and snacks.

“This playing equipment will give students the ability to play and build memories for the future,” Maretlane said.

“This marks the beginning of our relationship with the school. We hope to do more in the future. ” Selloane Mosielle, the school’s acting principal, said the equipment will help in the learning process.

His words were echoed by school secretary Motlalepule Mokoqo, who appealed to the parents to take care of the equipment. “This will motivate the children.

This might influence the children to be like the givers hence driving them to work harder,” Mokoqo said. “This will also help the kids to be committed to education.

” The founder of ML Pumps Company, Mohapi Nkola, volunteered to offer six months of maintenance for the equipment.
