B.W. Harris Episcopal High School emerged as champions of the 2024/2025 Inter School Sports Association (ISSA) Basketball League after edging out the College of West Africa (CWA) with a nail-biting 62-60 win in the final held Tuesday, May 6, at the Sports Commission on Broad Street.

Led by Head Coach Franking Diggs, the Episcopal Boys displayed resilience and tactical discipline throughout the tournament, culminating in their hard-fought victory.

“I’m deeply grateful to my athletes for the skillful, physical, and mental discipline they demonstrated from the start of the league to this final,” Coach Diggs said following the win. He also credited the school’s administration and sports department for their unwavering support.

The final match was closely contested, with both teams exchanging leads throughout all four quarters. Ultimately, B.W. Harris held their nerve to secure the two-point win and lift the championship trophy.

CWA Head Coach Saturday Johnson expressed disappointment with the outcome, attributing the narrow loss to missed scoring opportunities and lapses in execution. “We had the potential to win if we had better ball possession, passing, and finishing,” he noted, while also encouraging continued investment in the school’s athletic programs.

The championship marks a significant achievement for B.W. Harris, who now celebrate their status as top contenders in Liberian school basketball.
