Africa-Press – Liberia. Public Works Minister Roland L. Giddings has challenged the new leadership of the Caldwell Visionaries for Restoration and Development (CAVIRD) to remain steadfast, transparent and innovative in the discharge of their new duties.
Making remarks on behalf of Public Works Minister Giddings at program marking the installation of the new corps of officers of CAVIRD on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the auditorium of St. Maria Goretti High School, Upper Caldwell, Township of Caldwell, the Assistant Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Public Works, Madam Julian Morias Johnson said her boss regretted his inability of not being in person at the program due to pressing official engagements but he asked her to represent him and convey his sincere congratulations and best wishes.
Assistant Minister Johnson told the gathering that the installation program, which marked the second installation for tenure positions of elected officers, also marked a significant step forward in the collective efforts of the people of Caldwell to restore values, strengthen community leadership and foster development.
“’The Ministry of Public Works applauds the vision and determination of CAVIRD since its establishment in 2022. Your commitment to rebuilding this township, giving back to your community and mobilizing citizens for sustainable development reflects the true spirit of patriotism and service,’’ Assistant Minister Johnson stated.
She commended the outgoing leadership of CAVIRD for its dedication and sacrifice, saying ‘’you have laid a strong foundation that will guide the new leadership. To the incoming leadership, I extend heartfelt congratulations. You have been entrusted with a noble responsibility and we are confident that you will lead with integrity, inclusiveness and accountability.’’
She informed the new leadership of CAVIRD that its leadership will be measured not by the positions they hold but by the positive and lasting impact they make in the lives of the people of Caldwell.
Also on behalf of her boss, Assistant Minister Johnson congratulated the new leadership of CAVIRD and expressed the Ministry’s continued collaboration with the organization and the people of Caldwell as they work together to build stronger communities and a stronger Liberia.
During the installation program, funds were raised to help support the organization’s charity program to the sick & needy, community engagement on drugs, sanitation and other emerging concerns.

Meanwhile, Rev. Nelson D. Quaye, Founder of the Grace Christian Fellowship Ministries incorporated in Liberia served as the Installing Officer.
Those installed were Mr. John Adolphus Woods, President, Mrs. Patience Yates Warner , Vice President, Mrs. Lottie Sesay Jallah, Secretary, Mrs. Uomah Brown Witherspoon, Financial Secretary, Ms. Albertine Capehart, Treasurer and Mrs. Catherine Doe Kromah, Chaplain.
CAVIRD was established in 2022 by sons and daughters of Caldwell for the sole purpose of helping to restore lost values and contribute toward development programs and projects in Caldwell.
CAVIRD membership targets individuals who lived in the township of Caldwell prior to the civil war and has the desire to give back to the community as an appreciation for the positive environmental impact Caldwell made on their lives.
