MIRA Gas & Gas has expressed deep concern following an incident at its Somalia Drive location, assuring the public that affected employees and their families are receiving full support.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the dedicated team members impacted and their families during this difficult time,” the company said in a statement.
The firm’s Human Resources team is in direct contact with the families, while colleagues have been present at the hospital, offering support to those receiving treatment. MIRA Gas is working closely with its healthcare partner, Wellness Partners, in coordination with JFK Medical Center, to ensure comprehensive care.
Highlighting its commitment to safety, MIRA Gas emphasized that all operations comply with fire certificates, Environmental Protection Agency permits, and health and safety regulations, including a dedicated on-site Health & Safety Officer. The company noted that emergency response protocols, including the deployment of an on-site fire truck and the use of proper protective equipment by trained staff, helped prevent further harm.
MIRA Gas is cooperating fully with the Liberia National Fire Service, awaiting a formal investigation report to determine the incident’s cause and identify lessons to enhance industrial safety.
The company also requested privacy for affected employees and their families as recovery efforts continue. Medical coordination and HR teams will remain actively involved in care and support, while health and safety training across all MIRA sites will continue uninterrupted.
