Africa-Press – Liberia. The people of District Number Nine in Nimba County are poised to experience significant developmental progress as Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Hassan Bility, who is also the Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), unveiled ambitious plans to rehabilitate and open a network of farm-to-market roads spanning 78 towns across the district.

This promising initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, boost agricultural productivity, and elevate the overall quality of life for the district’s residents.

The announcement came during a visit to Graie Township, where Representative Taa Z. Wongbe of District Number Nine of Nimba County extended an invitation to Rep. Bility to collaborate on improving local infrastructure.

Both leaders underscored their shared commitment to addressing the district’s challenges and harnessing opportunities to strengthen connectivity and support the largely agrarian economy. Poor road conditions were identified by Rep. Wongbe as the district’s most pressing obstacle.

“Our farmers work tirelessly to produce food that feeds not only our district but the entire country. Unfortunately, bad roads limit their ability to reach markets efficiently, increasing post-harvest losses and lowering incomes,” he stated.

Rep. Wongbe stressed that rehabilitating these vital routes was essential in unlocking economic potential and improving livelihoods.

Highlighting the district’s unique diversity, Rep. Wongbe offered a powerful message of unity.

“District Nine is home to many tribes and cultures, but our strength lies in our togetherness. By working hand in hand, we will overcome the infrastructure deficits that have held us back for too long.”

Over the years, he has dedicated himself to fostering harmony across ethnic lines, building a foundation of cooperation and mutual respect that is critical for sustainable development.

In a significant boost to the district’s development endeavors, Rep. Wongbe also revealed that US$25,000 critical building materials had arrived to support several ongoing projects.

These resources are set to accelerate efforts in areas such as education, healthcare, and community facilities, further complementing infrastructure upgrades. Looking ahead,

Rep. Wongbe shared an inspiring roadmap for progressive development from 2026 through 2029, outlining phased projects to systematically uplift Towns across the district.

Notably, he also announced forthcoming women empowerment programs designed to enhance rural women’s participation in the district’s socio-economic activities.

These initiatives aim to foster entrepreneurship, improve access to education, and provide skills training, ultimately contributing to inclusive growth. Rep. Bility expressed enthusiasm about expanding his foundation’s impactful development mission into District Nine.

Over the years, Rep. Bility has championed numerous county-wide projects spanning education, health, and infrastructural improvements.

His pledge to replicate this success in District Nine has been warmly welcomed by local leaders and residents.

In a tangible demonstration of support, Rep. Bility donated 250 solar lights destined for key strategic points around the district.

These solar units are expected to improve access to electricity, enhance safety after dark, and provide better conditions for community activities and small-scale businesses operating in the evenings.

“The rehabilitation of roads and the provision of sustainable energy are game changers for rural communities. They do more than just build infrastructure they build hope and opportunity,” Rep. Bility affirmed.

His foundation’s focus on farm-to-market roads aims to reduce transportation barriers for farmers, help preserve produce quality, and expand access to regional markets, thereby stimulating local economies.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Rep. Wongbe celebrated the growing partnership with Bility, acknowledging the power of collaboration in driving development.

“When it comes to advancing our people’s welfare, I will seek help wherever necessary.

Our citizens deserve progress, unity, and a future filled with opportunity,” he declared passionately.

The leaders’ recent tours across numerous towns have been met with widespread optimism and enthusiasm from community members who see these joint efforts as a long-awaited turning point.
