Africa-Press – Liberia. As part of its ongoing commitment to serve the people of Liberia through social empowerment and Christian witness, Believers Eastern Church, Diocese of Monrovia, by the grace of God, officially launched its fourth Community Transformation Program (CTP) at Kpanay Town Community, Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, on 21st January 2026.

This launch represents the continuation of the Church’s holistic mission in Liberia, combining compassionate service with spiritual care for the well-being of children, families, and communities.

The launching of the Kpanay Town Community Transformation Program was carried out in the presence of His Eminence Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa, Archbishop of the Kigali and Monrovia Dioceses, along with Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre, Diocesan Vicar and Country Director of Believers Eastern Church, Liberia, Dn. Fr. Sanjib Ghorai, National Coordinator, CTP Liberia; and Evg. Karma Manjhi, Parish Pastor, Central Mataddi, together with other church leaders and representatives.

More than 650 community members and local leaders participated in the program.

Earlier in the day, the Church dedicated a Prayer Hall at Kpanay Town, officiated by His Eminence, marking the establishment of a place of worship to support the spiritual life of the community.

The Community Transformation Program Office was also dedicated, and prayers were offered for the ministry and the team that would serve the community.

These activities provided a spiritual foundation for the launch of the Community Transformation Program.

The official public program began with a community parade organized by the local leadership to welcome His Eminence and the Church delegation.

The event opened with a prayer led by Dn. Fr. Sanjib Ghorai, followed by welcome remarks from Patrick A. Gorwor on behalf of the Kpanay Town community.

During the program, Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre presented the vision and focus of the Community Transformation Program and its seven pillars, explaining how the program seeks to support education, strengthen families, promote sustainable livelihoods, and encourage responsible stewardship of natural resources in partnership with the community.

In his special message, His Eminence Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa emphasized the Church’s calling to serve God by serving humanity, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

He encouraged the community to recognize Liberia as a nation richly blessed by God and to place value on agriculture and productive use of the land for sustainable development.

The Diocese announced the placement of the Community Transformation Program team at Kpanay Town: Evg. Dweh as the missionary overseeing the Prayer Hall, and Sis. Serena, Bro. Victor and Bro. Cyrus as social workers serving under the Community Transformation Program.

The community leadership expressed appreciation to Believers Eastern Church for extending the Community Transformation Program to Kpanay Town and for its continued commitment to the development of communities across Liberia.

Through the launch of the Kpanay Town Community Transformation Program, Believers Eastern Church Liberia continues its mission of serving God and humanity, contributing to the spiritual, social, and economic well-being of communities in Liberia.

Thanks be to God for guiding and sustaining this ongoing work.
