Africa-Press – Liberia. A non-profit organization, Children Educational Developmental Support (CEDS) donated several assorted items to children with special needs in Montserrado County.
The CEDS-Liberia was founded in 2016 and thereafter launched in 2018, since its establishment the organization has never ceased to work in the interest of children with disabilities.
CEDS has a fully furnished safe home situated within the Soul Clinic community that sheltered the beneficiaries.
Speaking during the donation ceremony at Oscar and Viola Steward Mission School in Kebbah, Barnesville under the African Christian Fellowship International (ACFI) on Tuesday, August 9, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer Alexis T. Worji said the initiative is passionate driven.
“I feel so passionate about doing these things that we do as an organization, Mr. Worji said.”
According to Worji, he has experienced disability and knows what it means to be in such a condition, noting he is concerned about those children whose parents can barely cater to them.
“I have also had my own disability on my eye before, but thank God for the opportunity that was given to me to do an operation on it. I believe that thousands of these kids will not have the same opportunity like me to travel abroad to solve their problems but need support, he noted.”
He said the donation of the items including food items, medical supplies, and clothing was made possible with the support from the Needs Centers based in Massachusetts in the United States of America (USA).
The CEDS CEO has disclosed that there are plans to construct a safe home complex for children living with disabilities.
For her part, the Executive Director of the National Commission of Disabilities (NCD) Ambassador Daintowon Domah Payebayee lauded the effort of the organization and thanked the partners who continue to support the initiative.
Ambassador Payebayee also expressed the Commission’s readiness to work with CEDS to ensure the plight of the disabled is cared for.
Making a remark on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Principal of ACFI, Pastor Harrington Jududoe also thanked CEDS for the gesture.
“I want to thank you for looking back home for God has a resting place for you, Jududoe.”
