Africa-Press – Liberia. Dozens of aggrieved supporters of the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) have besieged premises of the National Disaster Management Agency here, calling for immediate resignation of the party’s Chairman, Ansu Dolley.

Mr. Dlley is also current Executive Director of the Disaster Management Agency.

The aggrieved partisans accused him of alleged corruption, nepotism and failure to employ some of them. The ALCOP is one of the collaborating parties of President Boakai’s ruling UP.

The protesters converged early Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Disaster Management agency, voicing out their frustrations over Chairman Dolley’s perceived failure to leverage his influence to secure government positions for his partisans.

The demonstrators holding placards with inscription “Mr. Rude Must Step down immediately” chanted slogans that highlighted their dissatisfaction with the current ALCOP leadership.

The group led by Musa Keita, accused Dolley of neglecting needs of loyal supporters, who expect the party’s prominence to translate into job opportunities within the government. Many protesters held placard reading “We Deserve Better” and “Bring Jobs Home,” as they demanded accountability from their party leaders.

“We worked hard to support the All Liberian Coalition Party and help elected our new Chairman. Now, we ask for the same commitment in return. It’s time for Chairman Dolley to advocate for us and ensure that we have our fair share of opportunities in government positions,” one protester expressed.

The aggrieved partisans, who were heavily guided by arm officers of the Liberia National Police assembled peacefully, with participants maintaining a respectful distance from the Agency’s entrance. However, tensions flared as the day progressed, and some protesters expressed concern over the lack of visible support from the party leadership.

“We feel abandoned,” said another demonstrator. “We were promised that our voices would be heard, but all we see is a lack of action. It’s time for Chairman Dolley to step up or step down.”

The growing discontent within the party regarding Dolley’s leadership, resulting to calls for him to step down as chairman, likely stems from concerns about his inability to lead effectively, as well as allegations of corruption and other issues.

“Effective leadership is crucial for maintaining party unity and public trust, and when members start to question leadership, it can lead to significant challenges for the party”, says spokesperson Musa Keita.

Some of the partisans suggested that this protest could be a critical moment for the All Liberian Coalition Party, testing its unity and commitment to its supporters.

When contacted, Chairman Dolley said it was shocking for partisans to express their frustration at the Agency.

“Now I’m not at my office; I’m seeking medical treatment at a facility in Pipeline, but tomorrow, we will address the press on the issue”, he promised.
