ANC Youth Congress Donates to Ailing Varney Jarsey

Africa-Press – Liberia. In a significant display of solidarity, the youth wing of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) has contributed $1,200 USD to support the medical treatment of former Liberia National Students’ Union (LINSU) President, Varney Jarsey, widely known by his alias, “Putin.”

Jarsey, a prominent figure and well-respected advocate in the Liberian student and youth community, is currently battling a serious illness in India. His dedication to student rights, civic engagement, and leadership development has earned him widespread admiration, prompting concern from former comrades and the youth community following news of his health challenge.

The donation was presented by the Indomitable National Youth Congress–ANC Chairman, Aliue Kiadii, who underscored the gesture as a reflection of the party’s enduring values: unity, compassion, and service to those who have significantly contributed to youth empowerment.

“Mr. Jersey’s contribution to the Youth and student community in Liberia is well known,” Chairman Kiadii stated.

“He stood up for justice, accountability, and the empowerment of young people at a time when many were silent. Today, we stand with him not just in words, but in tangible support as he faces this personal challenge.”

Chairman Kiadii also issued a broader appeal, calling on all Liberians, especially those in the youth and student sectors to foster a culture of collective care and mutual support during times of difficulty.

“Our humanity is defined not only by our achievements but also by how we treat those who once stood at the forefront of change,” he added, emphasizing the ANC Youth Congress’s commitment to promoting solidarity.
