CSO Accuses Ex-Grand Gedeh Superintendent of Fronting for Foreign Nationals to take Peaceful Liberian Lands

Africa-Press – Liberia. A local Civil Society Group in Liberia, ‘One Voice Liberia’ is calling on Mr. Peter L. Solo, former superintendent of Grand Gedeh County, to desist from fronting for foreign nationals to take peaceful Liberian land/ property through powers and influence.

The CSO in its release issued Thursday August 1, 2024 accused the ex Grand Gedeh official Peter Solo of illegally fronting for foreign nationals.

“Our independent investigation uncovered a recent property legally belonging to some Liberians identify as Mr. Samuel Benedict Cooper and Buster Cooper is under illegal attack by Mr. Solo in favor of Issam Jundi Managing Director of J-Mart Lineria.

The group said Mr. Solo has allegedly taken money from the Lebanese National Issam Jundi to illegally take a parcel of land from two Liberians in the Congo Town area.

One voice Liberia in its statement said Mr. Solo has allegedly embarked on a smear campaign through the media and bloggers to post against the original owner of the property through games and tricks.

“Solo is currently fronting for Issam Jundi against two Liberians who are legitimate owners of a property situated in Congo Town. (Mr. Samuel Benedict Cooper & Buster Cooper)

Both Peter Solo and Issam Jundi Managing Director of J-Mart Liberia are yet to respond to the allegation after contacting them via mobile phone by FrontPage Africa.

They were both being also texted alerting them about allegation levied against them by the Civil Society Group One Voice Liberia but to no avail.

FrontPage Africa has not independently verified claims made by the One Voice Liberia against the two accused, but It can be recalled that Mr. Peter Solo was also in the past in controversy with former superintendent of Grand Gedeh County George Boley for land and Solo later lost the case.

“Interestingly, Solo has promised court workers and magistrates jobs following his appointment by President Boakai,” one voice Liberia stated in their release.

The CSO also accused Mr. Peter Solo of allegedly promising unemployed Liberians jobs in President Boakai’s administration in exchange for cash or favors.

The irony is, he was never appointed himself and till today remains unemployed. He fought his friend and brother Alex Grant for the job of superintendent of Grand Gedeh County, the group stated.

“Naturally when Alex Grant was nominated for the job, Peter Solo was angry and organized a smear campaign against his longtime friend and even paid people to protest against him.

The group is, however, calling on the Boakai’s administration which is key on transparency and accountability not keep Solo anywhere a responsible government.
