FC Isloch Signs Liberian Midfielder David Tweh

Africa-Press – Liberia. Liberian international David Tweh has signed with FC Isloch, a top-flight club in the Belarusian Premier League, as he seeks to revive the form that once made him one of Liberia’s most exciting attacking midfielders.

Tweh, 26, is no stranger to Belarusian football, having previously represented Energetik-BGU, FC Dynamo Brest, and FC Rukh Brest — three clubs where he gained valuable top-flight experience and built a reputation as a technically gifted midfielder. Over the course of his career in Belarus, Tweh has made 88 league appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists — a solid record that underscores his creative influence on the pitch.

Before making his move to Europe, Tweh began his career at Barrack Young Controller (BYC) in Liberia, a club widely recognized for nurturing elite talent. His standout performances at BYC caught the eye of scouts and opened the door to opportunities abroad.

Now returning to Belarus for a new chapter, Tweh is determined to reestablish himself as a key figure in the league.

“This move means a lot to me,” Tweh told FrontPage Africa via phone from Minsk.

“FC Isloch is a club with ambition, and I want to use this opportunity to regain the confidence and rhythm that once made me one of the most talked-about players in Liberia and in Belarus.”

In addition to his club career, Tweh brings international experience with the Liberia national team, the Lone Star, having featured in high-profile fixtures against African powerhouses like Nigeria and Egypt. He also holds experience in UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualifying campaigns — further enhancing the pedigree he brings to his new club.

Officials at FC Isloch have welcomed the arrival of the Liberian playmaker, describing him as a “seasoned and dynamic” addition who they believe can bring creativity and leadership to the midfield.

The signing is being viewed as a key moment for both player and club — a chance for Tweh to reignite the spark that once saw him regarded as one of West Africa’s rising stars.

“I still have a lot to offer,” Tweh added.

“This is a fresh start, and I’m ready to give my all to help the team and also make Liberia proud.”

As the new season kicks off, eyes will be on Tweh to see whether the Monrovia-born talent can recapture the brilliance that earned him recognition across Liberia and beyond.
