Africa-Press – Liberia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah has promised to make the working environment for employees at the ministry more conducive to enhance the working activities at the ministry.
Minister Kemayah made the statement at the Ministry over the weekend when he presented two 30-seater buses to the worker union at the ministry to alleviate some of the transportation constraints that employees are faced with daily.
“Today, we will be turning over two brand new buses to the staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their immediate use. Those busses will help to ease the difficulty and the challenges that you as staffs faced while going to work and coming from work,” Minister Kemayah speaking at the Foreign Ministry over the weekend said.
Addressing staff of the ministry after a short stay out of the country, the Foreign Affairs Minister rolled out some of the major reforms the ministry has undertaken during his administration.
After presenting the keys of the two busses upon his return to the country, Minister Kemayah was able to present three sets of uniforms to employees of the Foreign Ministry.
The uniform for employees at the passport division, uniform for diplomatic security and uniform for individuals that worked in the maintenance department were presented to employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Minister Kemayah.
After praising the senior management team at the Ministry for their play during his absence, Minister Kemayah told the employees that as Minister, his priority is to seek employees’ welfare.
“For you the staff, you are the greatest asset that we have and your welfare is our foremost priority. And so, we are very much pleased with all of the things you are doing at the ministry,” Liberia’s Foreign Minister said.
Minister Kemayah added: “These uniforms that you have seen our staff wearing are not at their own cost but through the reform agenda here at the ministry and with the support of our President, they are here in uniforms.”
He continues: “Unifying staffs in the passport division will help the public to identify who they are dealing with and that the passport area is a no-go zone. This is the best standard that will maintain transparency.”
