Garmina Paygar-Flangiah, a talented Liberian-American forward, is currently showcasing his abilities with Capo FC, one of the rising clubs in the professional league.
Born in Liberia on May 1, 1994, Paygar-Flangiah holds dual citizenship in Liberia and the United States. His journey from his native country to the American professional ranks is a powerful story of resilience, discipline, and exceptional talent.
Early Career and Rise in Minnesota
Paygar-Flangiah began his development at Coon Rapids Senior High School in Minnesota, quickly establishing himself as a standout athlete.
His performance helped lead the team to consecutive conference playoff appearances.
During this period, he also excelled at the youth level with Minneapolis United SC. His most notable moment came in 2011 when he scored the lone goal in the final to secure the Schwan’s USA Cup Championship for his club.
His impressive performances that year earned him the All-Conference Honorable Mention Award and the Outstanding Athlete Award.
College and Developmental Pathway
Paygar-Flangiah further honed his game in college, representing the University of Northwestern–St. Paul and Upper Iowa University.
His versatility allowed him to be deployed successfully as both a midfielder and a forward, and his strong technical skill coupled with a physical style of play made him a key player at both institutions.
In 2018, he gained valuable developmental experience by joining the USL Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC U23 squad, making 10 appearances.
Professional Breakthrough and NISA Success
Paygar-Flangiah officially made his professional debut in 2019 with Atlanta SC in the NISA Men’s Pro League.
A year later, he signed with Albion San Diego, delivering one of the most productive spells of his career: he tallied 6 goals and 3 assists in just 9 appearances.
His strong showing caught the attention of Capo FC, where he signed in 2024 and has since become one of the club’s most impactful and dynamic attacking players.

Paygar-Flangiah is currently managed by JCN–Johnson Sports Management and represented by agent John Chibuzo Nwankpa, who continues to guide his growing professional profile within and beyond the United States.
