Africa-Press – Liberia. A renowned Liberian educator and Acting President of AllST University College, K. Ishmael V. Conneh, has challenged graduates to look with determination as they step into the larger society.
“Go forward with resilience, serve with humility, learn with passion, and lead with integrity”, he challenged.
Mr. Conneh spoke recently when he delivered the keynote address at the graduation ceremony of the Mohammed Salim Bakhirt High School in Monrovia.
It is with profound humility and gratitude that I stand before you today, not merely as President of AIIST University College, I am honored to share this moment with you — a moment that belongs to your courage, your perseverance, and your dreams”, he told the graduates.
Mr. Conneh said an institution is far more than a place of learning, but a center for molding minds, building character, and defining destinies.
He reminded members of the graduating class that they are graduating at a time when Liberia needs thinkers who can solve problems, leaders who can listen, and citizens who care. Education, he explained, “gives you the wings to fly, but discipline gives you the direction to land. Without discipline, talent becomes wasted potential; without integrity, intelligence becomes manipulation.”
He said there will be failures that they should accept and criticisms that they should learn from, including moments of doubt, which they must overcome like he himself did in the past and even now, adding, “What will matter most is not how often you fall, but how quickly you rise and what lessons you carry from the fall.
