Africa-Press – Liberia. The Vice President for Administration of the Inter School Sports Association (ISSA) Murvee Gray has described the gesture from the Liberia Football Association (LFA) as a big step forward for ISSA.

The LFA on Friday, October 29th presented a Dell computer and an HP Printer to the Inter Schools Sports Association (ISSA) to enhance its secretariat.

The Football House said the presentation is part of its development programs and responsibilities and LFA making the donation said it was important that ISSA be able to develop contents and keep a database of its information and players (students) so as to make the job of the LFA Football Coordinator much easier.

“With the supports from CAF and FIFA, supports from stakeholders and the Executive Committee of the LFA, it’s our responsibility to identify and work with our members”.

“ISSA being a long-term member of the Football Association and responsible for school competitions in Liberia, we believe it’s important that the association has a database to keep records of all its activities, players, and develop contents which will make it easier to develop the game,’’ Raji said as he presented the items to ISSA.

The LFA President said the move was also a step in building ISSA’s capacity to maintain internal communication and technology which will help to provide more information to the public and the LFA than there has been in the last 15 years.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the LFA headquarters Mr. Gray appreciated the LFA and its president Mustapha Raji and members of the Executive committee for continuing to support ISSA.

According to the ISSA vice president it is through the LFA support that the ISSA league was able to be introduced in the 15 counties league last season. He said ISSA will continue its league in the 15 counties because the support from the football House has improved the growth of school football.

‘’We’re overwhelmed by your action and we think by doing this, more young people are going to be attracted to schools through sports and that will reduce the number of young people taking drugs.

“Mr. Raji think you for the huge support that you have continued to give ISSA because it can be recalled that we received 5000.00 USD three times from the nation’s football house and you have given us the opportunity to use the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS), the Tusa sports ground for our league games so Mr. Raji, we are pleased to say thank you for your continued support to ISSA.” Mr. Gray said when he received the items.
