Africa-Press – Liberia. A Liberian football veteran is urging players of Liberia Football Association (LFA) first division champions, FC Fassell, to remain fully focused as they prepare to face Algerian giants MC Alger in the CAF Champions League.
Moses Z. Jackson said his advice comes from experience, noting that North African clubs are among the strongest in African football.
FC Fassell will face MC Alger on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex (SKD) in Paynesville, Montserrado County.
The match marks Fassell’s debut in the prestigious continental competition.
Jackson stressed that the players must maintain “absolute focus” throughout the 90 minutes if they hope to secure a positive result in the first leg of the preliminary round.
“I’m happy to hear that Liberia’s champions, FC Fassell, will face a North African powerhouse like MC Alger in the CAF Champions League,” Jackson said. “But I want the players to understand that they are up against one of Africa’s best clubs. They must remain fully focused, on and off the ball, if they are to win and put themselves in a strong position ahead of the return leg in Algeria.”
Jackson also encouraged fans, officials, and stakeholders of Liberian football to turn out in large numbers at the SKD to support Fassell.
He added that the match will not only showcase the talent of the Liberian champions but also provide an opportunity for local fans to witness high-level tactical play, ball control, and finishing.
