Africa-Press – Liberia. The Deputy Managing Director for Administration at the National Port Authority (NPA), Mr. James R. Bernard, has called on members of the 117th graduating class of McDaniel Faith Academy to keep faith as the foundation of their journey as they pursue higher education and future aspirations.
Speaking on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the school’s 16th Commencement Convocation held in the community behind the Coca-Cola Factory, Mr. Bernard emphasized that the ceremony was not merely a formality but a celebration of “dreams fulfilled, sacrifices rewarded, and faith made visible.”
“To the graduates, the stars of this day — this moment belongs to you,” he said. “Today, you stand clothed in your academic regalia — symbols not only of knowledge attained but of your resilience, determination, and unwavering belief that hard work, guided by faith, always yields fruit.”
He noted that McDaniel Faith Academy stands out for instilling moral and spiritual values alongside academic excellence.
“This institution has never been about education alone. It is about faith in God, discipline in character, integrity in action, and a spirit of service to humanity,” he said. “Here, you have not only gained knowledge to earn a living but wisdom to live a meaningful life.”
Mr. Bernard urged the graduates to remain grounded in faith, humility, and service as they navigate a world “where values often shift.” He reminded them that while education opens doors, character keeps those doors open.
“Let your success be guided by humility, your leadership marked by integrity, and your achievements used to uplift others,” he told the graduates. “Live a life of service — the greatest legacy you can leave is not measured in wealth or titles but in the lives you touch.”
He also praised the faculty, parents, and guardians for their sacrifices and contributions to the students’ success.
“To the faculty and staff — yours is the unseen yet powerful hand that has shaped these graduates,” Bernard said. “And to you, graduates — remember that today is not the end but the beginning of an even greater journey.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Mulbah S. Flomo, Principal of McDaniel Faith Academy, described the graduation as a significant milestone for the school, parents, and guardians after all 117 students passed the West African Examination (WASSCE).
He attributed the students’ success to the school’s commitment to the standards set by the Ministry of Education.
“Our interest is always to work with young people because transforming this youthful generation is what matters most,” he said. “We continue to follow the national curriculum, and that is a testament to our success as reflected in our WASSCE results.”
Principal Flomo extended gratitude to the faculty for their hard work and to parents for their continuous support, urging other parents to emulate the positive example of those who contributed to their children’s success.
