Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) has announced that its 2025 Ordinary Congress will be held on November 30, bringing together basketball stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on the future of the sport.

The high-level gathering will focus on key issues, including governance reforms, development strategies, infrastructure improvement, and the overall growth and sustainability of basketball in Liberia.

Delegates from member clubs, regional representatives, and key partners are expected to attend the event.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday in Paynesville City, LBA President Abraham B. Samukai confirmed the date and underscored the importance of the Congress in shaping the next phase of basketball administration in the country.

“This Congress represents an opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and action. We want every stakeholder’s voice to be heard as we chart a more vibrant and professional future for Liberian basketball,” President Abraham B. Samukai

President Samukai also announced that Vice President for Administration (VPA) Yanquay Borsay will chair the planning and coordination team responsible for organizing the event, ensuring a well-structured and inclusive process.

Preparations are already underway, with committees being established to handle logistics, communications, and stakeholder engagement. The LBA leadership remains optimistic that Congress will foster stronger governance, improved infrastructure, and greater participation nationwide.

The upcoming Ordinary Congress marks another major step in the association’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency, unity, and development within Liberia’s basketball community.
