The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) has issued a heartfelt call for peace and reconciliation in the face of ongoing conflict within the United Methodist Church (UMC). As tensions threaten to disrupt the church’s spiritual foundation, the LCC is appealing to all leaders and members to embrace dialogue and seek an amicable solution for the common good.
In a statement issued today, LCC President, Rev. Dr. Samuel Reeves, Jr., expressed deep concern over the unresolved disputes among UMC leadership. He emphasized that the continued division jeopardizes the church’s mission of spiritual growth and the wellbeing of its congregation. “We must prioritize unity and work towards healing the wounds that divide us. The future of the United Methodist Church depends on our collective commitment to reconciliation,” said Rev. Dr. Reeves.
