Liberia: Finance Minister Samuel Tweah Returns from Treatment after Tragic Lofa Road Accident

Africa-Press – Liberia. Liberia’s Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah has returned to the country several weeks after he left the nation for advanced medical treatment abroad following the tragic Lofa Road accident he and his wife were involved with on November 27, last year.

The Minister of Finance and Development Planning and his wife were involved in a motor accident at Ganglota Town in Lofa County while returning home from a short visit to Voinjama City.

The Minister and his wife were immediately rushed to Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga City, Bong County, and later taken to the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Monrovia.

The next day, Minister and his wife were taken out of the country for advanced medical treatment.

Dr. Jerry Brown, the Chief Executive Officer at the JFK Hospital, told FrontPageAfrica at the time that Tweah and his wife sustained multiple fractures in their right arms, unfortunately, the hospital did not have the requisite equipment to have treated them.

“We managed to stabilize their conditions but we did not have the requite equipment to provide the kind of treatment they needed, it would have taken us more than 24 hours to have gotten that equipment so, the patients had the option to seek advanced medical treatment,” Dr. Brown said.

The couple was flown to Turkey where they had been receiving treatment.

After a month of advanced medical treatment, the Minister of Finance was greeted by several individuals from the Ministry of France and supporters of the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC).

At the airport, the Minister appreciated Liberians for keeping him in their prayers. Tweah added that he has returned to resume work as Minister of Finance.

After his return, his supporters took to social media to express their admiration to the Minister of France and Development Planning.

Aloyoius Howe said: “With God, all things are possible!! God has brought him back safely to the motherland. Welcome back D Tweah.”

Darius A.C. Kiamue: “Welcome back my Honorable Minister. Let God himself perfect your health. Thank you once again for showing your love for Mama Liberia.”

Emmanuel Leaman: “God did it for others and he had done it for him as well. Thank God for everything.”

Been Weah: “We are so grateful to God for you Hon. minister we are so happy for you God is great.”
