Liberia: Former Lone Star Keeper Nathanial Sherman Differs With Debbah

Africa-Press – Liberia. Following a post by Liberian football legend James Debbah that he was denied entry into the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex during the ongoing National County Sports meet his former player Nathaniel Sherman has differed with the Liberian football legend.

According to James Debbah he was stopped from entering the stadium by security at the gate who he said didn’t show him respect for his contribution to football in Liberia.

But investigation by FrontPage Africa shows that the former Lone Star was given a ticket to enter the VVIP but he headed it to another person and wanted to enter the stadium with out tickets.

In reaction to Debbah’s post his former player Nathanial Sherman believe that the supper did not do well by thinking that as a national team former player is his right to enter the stadium without access pass.

Sherman who was a key member of Debbah’s Lone Star team as first choice goalkeeper said he respect his former coach but think he should have done better.

The Lone Star current goalkeeper trainer injured his eyes when Debbah ‘s Lone Star team was getting prepared for a qualifier against Tunisia in 2015.

Sherman posted on Facebook that the consistency of wrongdoing in Liberia, years in and out has now become the right of today.

He asserted that Liberians believe that government officials are extremely excused from paying taxes which is a wrong perception, but it’s accepted nationwide and a habit in Liberia.

“Yesterday, I thoughts being a former player was a right to enter any stadium in Liberia until I realized that being a former player does not give you the right to enter a stadium at a local game for free, follow the procedure and processes of doing the right thing at the right time,”.

“I learned from my mistake, today, I either get a complimentary ticket or buy a ticket to avoid embarrassment,”

“Meanwhile, if I’m taking an additional person with me, I also buy tickets for them as well,”.

“It’s simple, as in simple, the learning curve for us all,”.

“We all put our right hand across our hearts to defend the motherland but that does not give us full access to abuse the system because we once represent the motherland, as former players, we should show and lead by example for the younger ones to follow.

“Imagine, ALL former players go to the game for free, note, some guys only wore the jersey and did not play a single game, they are also considered former players too, let’s change the narrative and set the standard differently once.

“Note, I have the full detail and authentication of the situation that occurred at the SKD between soccer Legend/ my former coach James Salinsa Debbah and security at the SKD.

“Our sacrifices do not give free access to the entrance of all stadiums in Liberia but the processes and procedures are the way forward.

Sacrifices at different levels are various from person to person,” Sherman said.
