Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has expressed appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for offering specialized training to ten immigration officers assigned at the Roberts International Airport.
The officers will travel to China to participate in a Seminar on Civil Aviation Operation and Management, scheduled to run from July 15 to 28. The training is aimed at enhancing professional capacity in immigration operations and aviation security.
According to the LIS, the program is part of ongoing efforts by the Chinese government to support institutional development and capacity-building in Liberia’s security and border management sector.
“This invaluable training opportunity marks another step forward in strengthening the operational efficiency and global competence of LIS personnel,” the agency stated. “It also aligns with our broader goal of promoting professional excellence in service delivery.”
The LIS praised China’s continued support and described the initiative as a reflection of the strong and growing diplomatic ties between the two countries, characterized by mutual respect and development cooperation.
“This gesture is a testament to the enduring partnership between Liberia and China and their shared commitment to peace and progress,” the LIS added.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to working with international partners to improve its services and safeguard Liberia’s borders while creating more opportunities for staff development.
