Monrovia – Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf has dismissed with immediate effect former Registrar of the Marriage Certificate Bureau at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Madam Gloria Ndubuisi.

The decision by the minister of internal affairs was based on recommendations and findings from months of investigation by a panel set up by the ministry to investigate the Bureau after complaints from citizens of receiving fake marriage and divorce certificates from the ministry, a release stated.

According to investigation reports, Madam Ndubuisi admitted to soliciting monies from her victims at the same time criminally generating fake revenue numbers and placing same on certificates from the ministry.

The investigation also established several criminal maneuverings in which she deliberately deprived government of needed revenue while transferring monies intended for government into her personal use, the release added.

In a termination of service letter, the ministry recounted Madam Ndubuisi’s actions to be in contravention of the Public Financial Management (PFM) Law, the Penal Code of Liberia, and the Civil Service Standing order.

In lieu of her dismissal, the ministry has requested the former Registrar to turn over all materials of the ministry in her possession to the Director of Human Resource.
