Liberia: MOE Distributes Learning Materials for Public Schools

Africa-Press – Liberia. With support from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) through the Covid-19 Education Emergency project, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has begun the distribution of learning materials to public schools across the country.

The materials include civics books, revised national curriculum for Grades 1 through 12, early childhood education curriculum, learning kits, workbooks, disability learning kits, teacher’s guides, as well as other learning materials.

According to Authorities of the Ministry, the distribution of learning materials is part of an effort to enhance the delivery of quality learning outcomes for the educational sector.

The Ministry said this would further improve and standardize the country’s educational system, which is imperative on the MOE and development partners.

“The nationwide distribution is the first of its kind, geared towards improving learning objectives and outcomes, students’ capacity acceleration, and teachers’ enhancement with a specific focus on teaching management and lesson presentation, amongst others,” the Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, the exercise has officially begun in Bomi and will subsequently be extended to other counties, targeting all public schools with the needed provision of materials.

Meanwhile, upon receipt of these essential learning materials, the Ministry has urged school administrations and students to use them for the intended purpose and not to be sold.
