Africa-Press – Liberia. Oliver Klark, the CEO of My Watchman, a renowned Liberian security solutions company, is expected to receive the prestigious “Founder of the Year 2022-2023—West Africa” award in Ethiopia this week.

Klark won the award from among 8,300+ startups across the continent. While in Ethiopia, he is expected to vie for “Founder of the Year” for all of Africa.

The award ceremony in Ethiopia promises to be a grand affair, bringing together influential figures from various industries across West Africa. It provides an excellent platform for networking and establishing valuable connections with like-minded professionals.

With its headquarters in Liberia, My WatchmanTM has been one of the companies at the forefront of driving technological innovation in Liberia. According to Klark, the goal of My Watchman is to bridge the gap in access to critical emergency and social response services—”using technology as an enabler.”

“We are happy to have won this, but more importantly for us, we think this is a significant victory for all Liberians,” Klark said. “This award is a triumph for Liberia because it provides the stage to present novel ideas and various technologies that have been created locally with global use cases.”

“At My Watchman, we believe that access to critical emergency response services should not be a privilege. Every family should be able to afford these services, regardless of their social or economic status. That is why we have built an affordable, dependable, and reliable emergency response platform and network with inclusive pricing, putting safety in the palm of your hand and giving you and your loved ones that peace of mind, knowing that help is only one click away,” he maintained.

Currently, My WatchmanTM, a social impact solution, provides 24/7 access to critical emergency response services (security, medical, sexual, gender-based violence, and fire) to its valuable customers in the country.

Earlier this year, the company made the finals for “Startup of the Year—East Africa Region (Kenya),” “Ecosystem Hero of the Year—West Africa Region (Liberia),” and “Founder of the Year—West Africa Region (Liberia).” However, he managed to win the “Founder of the Year” in the Global Startup Awards Western Africa region category.
