Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Christian Association of the Blind (CAB) joins the chorus of voices congratulating His Excellency George M. Weah for his unwavering commitment to free, fair, peaceful, and credible elections in Liberia.

Manyon, CAB’s Secretary General and approved by the association’s National President/CEO, Beyan G. Kota.

“The tolerance of the country’s democratic institutions, demonstrated in the conduct of these elections by the National Elections Commission (NEC), is a testament to the resilience of the Liberian spirit, sensitive and responsive to the needs of all voters, particularly the visually impaired, through the provision of ballot guides, was instrumental, inclusive, transparent and credible elections. This milestone serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the region and the world.

“We acknowledge that the true winners of these elections are the people of Liberia,” the statement continued. “While commending President-Elect Joseph N. Boakai for his victory, CAB remains steadfast in its belief that the principles guiding the development of the new government will be reflective of the needs and aspirations of Liberia’s underprivileged and marginalized populations. We further urge the Unity Party to make deliberate efforts to deliver on its campaign promises to the people of Liberia and forgive those who may have worked against them, all in a bid to build a stronger, united, and prosperous Liberia for the benefit of all citizens.

*We want them to be reminded that this victory is not for them alone, but for all Liberians. As the adage goes, “In union there is strength, and success is sure.” With our rights to proof, we shall all prevail.

“History will forever remember President George M. Weah for the love and courage displayed in the place of compromise for the betterment of our country.

“In addition to the commendable efforts of the Liberian government and its people, we must also recognize the invaluable contributions of international organizations in maintaining peace and supporting the democratic process in Liberia. These organizations, including the United Nations, (UN), the United States Government, The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), The European Union (EU), and the African Union (AU), as well as other partner countries who have played a pivotal role in creating an environment conducive to free and fair elections. Their unwavering support and commitment to Liberia’s democratic journey have been instrumental in ensuring the peaceful transition of power. We urge them to continue their support as Liberia embarks on a new chapter of its democratic journey.

“As Liberia celebrates this significant milestone, we must remain vigilant in safeguarding the gains made and continue to strive for a more inclusive, prosperous, and just society for all Liberians,” the statement concluded.
