Africa-Press – Liberia. The Standard Bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), Mr. Alexander Cummings, has stressed the critical significance of attaining quality education in acclerating national development, urging young people not to relent in their educational pursuits.
Cummings admonishes students to develop more interests in the STEM Courses including engineering, mathematics, technology, and the sciences, which he said are of greater demand in the emerging age of modern technologies.
He said added to God’s blessings, the attainment of quality education, gives you competitive advantage to succeed in any society, making reference to his enviable corporate records and successes in America, Europe and Africa where he has worked.
Cummings served as Chief Executive officer of Coca-Cola Africa, managing a total of 56 countries and territories across the African Continent.
The CPP Standard Bearer made the assertion when he served as Guest Speaker at the 23rd baccalaureate and intercessory service of the University of Liberia Muslim Students Association held at Fish Market Mosque in Sinkor, Monrovia. Cummings assured that a CPP Government would prioritize improving the quality of the educational system, which he said is critical to accelerating national development.
Cummings envisages a new Liberia, where education will be top priority of government and that all Liberians irrespective of political or religious affiliations, ethnicity, status or creed, will have equal rights, and access to jobs and opportunities.
He vowed that a CPP Government will lead and do things differently, noting that the only thing that will limit one’s participation and access to opportunities is to choose to be on the wrong side of the law.
Earlier Fish Market Mosque Imam, Ali Krayee, spoke against the misapplication of knowledge by some unscrupulous educated people to discriminate, suppress, undermine and do evil to others.
Imam said knowledge without the fear of God would result in misapplying knowledge to the detriment of society, which must be resented for the good of society.
Eighty-one Students of the University of Liberia Muslim Students Association are expected to graduate from the University of Liberia during its ceremonies slated for May 31- June 7, 2023.
