Africa-Press – Liberia. In an electrifying encounter at the Southern Arena, Liberia staged a thrilling late comeback to secure a 2–2 draw against Sierra Leone in Match-Day 2 of the ongoing Mano River Union U-20 Women’s Tournament Sierra Leone 2025.

Sierra Leone drew first blood just before halftime when Fatmata E. Conteh found the back of the net in the 45th minute.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 71st minute through Sarah Turay, leaving Liberia trailing as the match neared its final stages.

However, the Liberian girls refused to back down. Striker Olive Nyumah pulled one back in the 74th minute, reigniting hope for the visitors.

Just when it seemed Sierra Leone would hold on, Makasian Saryon struck in the 89th minute to complete a dramatic equalizer, leaving fans on both sides in awe.

The draw keeps Liberia in contention as the tournament progresses, highlighting their resilience and fighting spirit on the MRU stage.
