Africa-Press – Liberia. Two Liberian international referees have completed an intensive Video Assistant Referee training in the North African state of Casablanca Morocco.

Female FIFA badge Sylvina Garnett and new FIFA badge Emmanuel Mensah departed Liberia for Morocco on November 20 to join other African referees to participate in a ten-day VAR course.

The course was based on practical and theoretical sessions and started with basic training, working through VAR protocols, and the VAR simulator.

Out of eighteen referees, Garnett was the only female and the first Liberian female referee to undergo intensive physical and technical preparations, which included the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) simulation sessions.

Sylvina expressed thanks and appreciation to the President of the Liberia Football Association Mustapha Raji, the Executive Committee members, the hard-working staffers, and the Liberia Football Referees Association for such an opportunity afforded her.
