Africa-Press – Liberia. Liberian international defender Natus Swen has signed a three-year contract with Moldovan Super Liga powerhouse FC Sheriff. The transfer fee for the deal remains undisclosed.
FC Sheriff announced Swen’s signing on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, via their official website and social media platforms.
“Liberian defender Natus Jamel Swen has joined FC Sheriff. The contract has been signed, and all formalities have been completed. We wish him good luck and success at our club,” the club’s statement read.
A Rising Star
Swen, 20, made his senior national team debut for Liberia in March 2024 and has since earned eight caps for the Lone Star.
Speaking after his unveiling, Swen expressed his excitement at signing his first professional contract.
“I am thrilled to announce that I have officially signed my professional contract with FC Sheriff! This is not just a dream come true but also a fantastic opportunity to grow as a player and contribute to a club with such rich history and ambition,” he said.
Swen credited his family, coaches, and teammates for their support throughout his journey. “Your belief in me has been invaluable,” he stated.

He also expressed gratitude to Fella Sports Management for facilitating his move to Europe.

Shaita FC, Swen’s last club in Liberia, confirmed his departure and wished him well. “We’d like to congratulate Natus Swen on his move to FC Sheriff. We thank him for his services and wish him all the very best,” the club said.
Massa Football Academy, where Swen began his career, also celebrated the achievement. “We are thrilled to announce that our very own Natus Jamel Swen has signed a professional contract with Moldovan giants FC Sheriff!

FC Sheriff: A Global Name
FC Sheriff, based in Tiraspol, Transnistria, plays in Moldova’s top-tier Super Liga. The club is currently leading the 2024-25 Super Liga standings with 36 points from 14 matches.
FC Sheriff gained international fame in 2021 after defeating Real Madrid 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu during the UEFA Champions’ League group stage.
