About Edward W. Neufville
Prior to becoming an attorney, Edward “Eddie” Neufville was an accomplished collegiate and international athlete. Edward W. Neufville is one of the University of North Carolina’s greatest international competitors of all time, having made Olympic and World Championship teams for his native Liberia. As a member of the 4×100-meter relay team, he competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 1997 World Championships in Athletics, setting a Liberian national record on both occasions.
“I felt very blessed, honored, and fortunate to have competed at the Olympic Games for my country at such a young age (19 years old). It was a feeling of accomplishment and also a feeling of giving back to Liberia. Liberia was in a civil crisis in 1996. The opportunity to represent Liberia and provide a positive picture of Liberia was satisfying. It was out of this world!” – Edward Neufville, 1996 Olympics for Liberia
His time at Carolina included an All-American performance as a member of the 4×100 relay team that finished fourth at the 1999 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He still holds a top-five time in school history in the 60-meter hurdles. In 2007, Neufville was inducted into the University of North Carolina Track and Field Hall of Fame. In 2004, he founded the Law Office of Edward W. Neufville, III, LLC a full-service United States Immigration and Nationality law firm. Mr. Neufville, a person who stutters, is an experienced trial lawyer, skilled negotiator, and passionate advocate. Mr. Neufville has argued before the United States Federal Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and Immigration Courts across the United States. He has been named three years in a row (2009, 2010, 2011) as a Maryland Super Lawyer’s Rising Star and recently in 2019.
