Liberia’s Solicitor General Cllr. Sayma Syrenius Cephus Accuses Several Of Plot

Africa-PressLiberia. The Solicitor General of the Republic Liberia, Cllr Sayma Syrenius Cephus has accused several prominent Liberians including the former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Cllr. Kabineh Muhammad Ja’neh, Liberia Council of Churches President Bishop Kortu Brown, former Finance Minister Mr. David Farhat, Independent National Commission on Human Rights chairman Cllr. T. Dempster Brown and Economic Freedom Fighters commander-in-chief Emmanuel Gonqueh of plot allegedly aimed are destroying his life, his wife, and that of his children.

In Cllr. Cephus’ letter addressed to the Minister of Justice Cllr. Frank Musa Dean, complained of alleged threats posed to his life, his wife, and children orchestrated by those names mentioned.

The letter indicated that former Associate Justice Kabineh Muhammad Ja’neh, Bishop Kortu Brown, Cllr. Dempster Brown, who he (Cllr. Cephus) said is wrongly using the INCHR for publicity purposes to besmear the Weah’s government – and convicted felons from the so-called Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF), who according to Cllr. Cephus, have taken to the airwaves in manners suitable to their selfish interests to publicly call for his unconditional and unceremonious removal as Solicitor-General on such flimsy and unfounded allegations.

“They want to use threats to have me resign and issue a public arrest order, to take me to court and for this reason, have extended their campaign of fear, terror, and disinformation to my darling wife and family through radio pronouncements and newspaper publications as demonstrably shown by the attached newspaper’s article in The Inquirer attributed to Cllr. Brown”.

Through the letter, Cllr Cephus is calling the attention of the Justice Minister on what he called open threats on his life and family, close relatives, and friends, which according to the SG, is a divide and rule game being employed and heavily played to apparently frighten the Justice Minister into submission.

The letter further narrated that it’s a calculated plot by forces of evil to destabilize the Prosecution Department of the Ministry of Justice and install someone at the detriment of the Government of Liberia. According to the SG’s letter, his family is living in fear, and can hardly leave their home because of the negative campaigns.

“I want the communication to claim the Justice Minister urgent attention and necessary steps be taken to protect not just my office, but also my character and family against any possible violent citizens’ arrest. I will only rely upon the law that I know so well by practice and procedure to defend my cause, and those of my family, in a court of law, where necessary,” Cllr. Cephus’ letter stated.

The letter continued: “I am calling your attention to these open threats on my life and members of my family and close relatives and friends because there seems a divide and rule game being employed and heavily played to apparently frighten you into submission that the plot to remove me as Solicitor-General is not directed at you, or, in fact, you are the purported victim whose job as Minister of Justice and Attorney-General is being unduly sought and that this campaign is being fought on your behalf to ensure your personal safety and wellbeing.”

However, the letter said, in truth and practice, it is a well-calculated ploy by these forces of evil to destabilize the Prosecution Department of the Ministry of Justice and install therein, someone of their liking to the detriment of the Government of Liberia.

According to the SG, those behind his downfall have purposed, disclosing in his letter that, former Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh came to Liberian politics by means of armed struggle and fighting back because of his (Cllr. Cephus) role as the Lead Manager in Ja’neh’s impeachment trial, and subsequent removal want to see his downfall.

Cllr. Cephus’ letter further said that Bishop Kortu Brown has a personal hatred for the Weah-led government and using his religious connection to conceal his mendacious posturing – and terming the Bishop as a ‘faceless politician,’ saying “Bishop Kortu Brown using the campaign to get even with anyone who has seen through his hypocrisies and viciousness.”

David Farhat, according to the SG’s letter, termed him as a failed politician who is paying back because he was indicted by me (Cllr Cepheus) in the L$2.6 billion CBL case.

For Cllr. T. Dempster Brown, Cllr Cephus said he is a publicity stunt, irrespective of the fact that the allegations against him are groundless, and for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), their leadership is paying back because they were arrested by him (Cllr Cephus) for attacking the Capitol Building, beating up the security assigned there and damaging the gate and installing their own locks on grounds that members of the National Legislature are allegedly rampantly corrupt.

The SG’s letter stressed, “I took the pain to recite the individual roles of each of the groups and reasons behind their campaign of vilification against me, my person, my darling wife, and my family to draw your attention to the fact that my life is at risk and therefore to crave your indulgence to address these threats in your capacity as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia, and to provide me with additional security personal.”

According to Cllr. Cephus, there are plans by these same groups to incite some youths and women in the Liberian society to stage public demonstrations and demand my unconditional dismissal or resignation as Solicitor-General on accounts of the alleged deaths and disappearances of individuals throughout the country as vividly shown in Cllr. Brown’s newspaper article cited inter alia”.

A couple of weeks ago, former Managing Director of the Robert International Airport Authority Ellen Cockrum alleged that the Solicitor General is involved in killing virgins and using them for ritual purposes – and also, alleging she bribe Cllr. Cephus US$17,386,000 for a “Ne Exeat Republica to drop a case against her in Liberia, which had since been denied by Cllr Cephus.

Based on Corkum’s allegations, there are mounting calls from civil society groups and women organizations for Cllr. Cephus’s immediate resignation follow by an independent investigation for his alleged involvement in using virgins for ritual purposes.
