LiMA CECE United Football Academy Signs Sponsorship Deal

Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) has signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with CECE United Football Academy. This partnership marks an important step in the Authority’s plan to increase its visibility and rebranding efforts.

The deal was announced on Wednesday, December 10, at LiMA’s headquarters. It is part of a wider rebranding initiative aimed at ensuring the maritime sector benefits all parts of society.

During the ceremony, Mr. Desiré Satia, Deputy Chief Financial Officer of LiMA, called the sponsorship a smart investment in youth development, national pride, and local empowerment. He pointed out that Liberia’s role as a major maritime flag state comes with a responsibility to give back to the community.

“Given Liberia’s status as a major flag state in the maritime industry and the benefits that come with it, the Commissioner/CEO of LiMA, Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., directed that we take meaningful actions to support sports and invest in national activities that showcase the Liberian flag,” Mr. Satia said. “We want to start at the grassroots level through the important work of CECE United Football Academy.

As part of this effort, LiMA’s logo will appear on all club jerseys and training materials for the next five years. The Academy will also work with LiMA on community outreach through our CSR Department.”

Co-founder of CECE United Football Academy, Mr. Pawala Janyan, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, calling it a timely move that offers much-needed support during tough financial times.

“This sponsorship has taken a heavy burden off my shoulders,” Mr. Janjan said. “It will not only help CECE United as a football club, but it will also support the many young people who view this Academy as a source of hope. This Rebranding Initiative by the Authority is both timely and impactful. For the next five years, CECE United will proudly display the Liberia Maritime Authority logo on all our sports gear as part of our partnership to increase visibility. Our players will also participate in charity and outreach activities covered by this agreement.”

Mr. John F. Harvey, Deputy Commissioner for Domestic Vessel Registration and Safety at LiMA, took the opportunity to remind CECE United Football Academy to maintain the values of discipline and integrity, which he said are core to LiMA’s identity.

“Make sure the players keep a high level of discipline throughout their football careers,” Mr. Harvey advised. “LiMA is known for promoting discipline and good character, and any organization we partner with must reflect those values. We are excited to work with CECE United Football Academy for the passion, dedication, and integrity you show in your sporting activities.”

This five-year partnership is expected to increase LiMA’s visibility nationwide while promoting youth empowerment, community development, and national unity through sports.
