Africa-Press – Liberia. Paynesville City-Liberia’s Deputy Minister for Sports, G. Andy Quamie has criticized Liberia Football Association president, Mustapha Raji on his refusal to adhere to the burning concerns of football stakeholders.

In his remarks, Raji accused stakeholders of being unrealistic to the revamping and progress currently at the football house.

Raji attacked towards stakeholders, supposedly swept aside the meaningful contributions they have made to the development of football in Liberia.

However, few would imagine Raji’s deliberate aggressive utterances and lazy stereotyping directed at the stakeholders which was immediately debunk Minister Quamie.

Minister Quamie, making a statement few days ago at the 28 Ordinary Congress emphasized that the LFA president has subsequently and ideally refused to listen to criticism.

Said Quamie, “There is no human being on earth that cannot make mistakes, but your willingness to correct those mistakes and listen to criticism will help you to improve in other areas.”

Quamie noted that majority of the clubs in Liberia are privately owned by individuals, with relatively few run by companies including Raji’s club LISCR FC.

He emphasized that owners of football clubs have deprived families on numerous occasions in order to sustain the operations of their clubs.

He emphasized, “Young people in every category are playing football in Liberia today due to the sacrifices stakeholders are making because of their passion”.

Adding, “Is not easy running football. I want to say thanks to the Stakeholders. The running of these various divisions is not ordinary most especially taking money directly from your pocket.”

Despite Quamie recognizing Raji’s posture and self-obsession rant towards stakeholders, he called for continue dialogue among the executive Committee and the stakeholders.
