MONROVIA- the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery along with its Kenyan counterpart on Wednesday hosted the revision and update of accreditation standards and development of nursing and midwifery clinical training and practice policy in Liberia.
The Liberia Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) and their Kenyan counterpart on Monday, May 20, 2024, visited the main campus of the Turman National Institute of Medical ARTS (TNIMA) as part of its physical and stakeholders’ engagement which is part of their revision and current accreditation and education of policy development of clinical policy and continue on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Cape hotel in Monrovia.
The LBNM Registrar/Executive Secretary, Madam Cecelia Kpangbala-Flomo, said the process is part of their physical revision and update of its current accreditation and education policy and development of clinical policy.
Madam Kpangbala-Flomo said they have brought in their Kenyan counterpart from the Kenyan National Nursing and Midwifery Council to interact with the product of regulation in Liberia for sustainable partnership.
According to her: “TNIMA is one of our outstanding products of regulation in Liberia due to their performances over the last five years in compliance with the LBNM regulation and always striving to implement regulation and guidelines to put the school on the global scope to validate the authenticity of the LBNM.”
Also speaking, Madam Betina Muthama, Senior Education and examination officer-nursing council of Kenya, said their visit to Liberia is part of the LBNM activity of accreditation process for nursing education process. Adding that they have come to collaborate with the LBNM to review the LBNM accreditation policy and to develop the clinical practice.
The Chief Administrator of TNIMA Madam Sarah Kollie, for her part, lauded the LBNM and Kenyan counterpart of their visit which she claims will strive for the advancement of tools and best practices of nursing and midwifery in Liberia.
“Today we are excited to receive guests from the Kenya Board of Nursing and Midwifery which is geared to modify our tools and share commonality with the Kenyan Board of Nursing and Midwifery in the interest of strengthening the health sector of Africa,” Madam Sarah Kollie added.
