Africa-Press – Liberia. Harvest Intercontinental Ministries is set to host one of Liberia’s largest religious events this year as preparations intensify for its 2025 National Convention, scheduled to take place from August 12 to 17 in the city of Sanniquellie.
Themed “Rejoice and Renew,” the weeklong gathering aims to promote spiritual revival, empower churches, and foster national unity among Christians across Liberia and the West African region.
Thousands of worshippers, pastors, and church leaders from across the country and neighboring nations are expected to converge in Sanniquellie for a full schedule of worship services, leadership training, and community engagement activities.
The host venue, Harvest Church Sanniquellie, is currently undergoing preparations to accommodate the large number of delegates, while local residents and business owners are anticipating an economic boost from the influx of visitors.
The opening ceremony will feature vibrant praise and worship, choral performances, and intercessory prayers. Presiding over the convention will be Bishop Wolo Belleh, Head of the First Diocese of Harvest Intercontinental Ministries, which oversees churches in Liberia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Sierra Leone.
Bishop Belleh, who is expected to deliver the keynote address, said the convention will serve as a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and collective action to strengthen the Church’s role in national development.
“This convention will not only strengthen our churches but will also serve as a moment of reflection and redirection,” Bishop Belleh stated. “We are calling the body of Christ to rejoice in God’s goodness and renew our collective commitment to transforming communities.”
The convention’s agenda includes leadership workshops, keynote sermons, worship services, and panel discussions. Sessions will focus on issues such as mental health awareness in Christian communities, sustainable church growth, marriage and family development, land ownership, church administration, media relations, and economic empowerment.
A key feature of the event will be ordination and licensing ceremonies, during which dozens of trained ministers and church workers will be officially commissioned to serve in their respective counties and districts.
Pastor Jerry Wleh, a senior member of the planning committee, said the convention is more than a religious event—it is a catalyst for societal transformation.
“We believe in building a well-equipped generation of Christian leaders who will serve with humility and integrity,” Pastor Wleh said. “This is not just a spiritual retreat; it’s a launchpad for national transformation.”
With clergy expected from various denominations and counties, the convention will also promote interdenominational unity and cross-border collaboration. Discussions will highlight the Church’s critical role in peacebuilding, social justice, and economic development in Liberia.
As faith-based communities continue to contribute to Liberia’s moral and social fabric, the 2025 Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Convention stands out as a defining moment for both spiritual renewal and national progress.
“We are coming together not just as a denomination but as a movement committed to the spiritual and societal revival of Liberia,” Bishop Belleh concluded.
