Africa-Press – Liberia. Shaita Angels have intensified the 2025/26 Upper Women’s League title race after cruising to a commanding 4–1 victory over Kneeling Warriors in a midweek showdown that reshaped the top of the table.

The emphatic win sees Shaita Angels move to 35 points from 14 matches just one point behind league leaders Determine Girls, who earlier dropped crucial points in a 1–1 draw against Tap Tap FC.

With the title race tightening, Determine Girls remain atop the standings with 36 points from 14 games, but their once-comfortable cushion has been reduced to the narrowest of margins.

Abrafi Shines with Brace

At the center of Shaita’s dominant display was forward Sarah Abrafi, who delivered a clinical performance, netting a brace to set the tone for her side’s attacking masterclass.

The Angels asserted control early, pressing high and carving open the Kneeling Warriors’ defense with swift transitions.

Abrafi opened the scoring and double her tally, sending Shaita supporters into a frenzy.

Miatta Morris added a third with a composed finish, capitalizing on a defensive lapse, while forward Kaddy Jarju capped off the afternoon with a clinical strike to complete the rout.

Kneeling Warriors managed to pull a goal back to avoid a shutout, but Shaita’s depth and composure in the final third proved too much for the opposition to handle.

Around the League

Elsewhere in the league, Senior Female Pro defeated Small Town 3–1, while Bushrod Queens secured a 2–0 victory over Falconets, further tightening the competition in the middle of the pack.

Title Race Intensifies

Earlier in the day, Determine Girls missed a golden opportunity to extend their lead after being held to a 1–1 draw by Tap Tap FC.

The dropped points have injected fresh momentum into the title race as the season enters its home stretch.

With both Determine Girls and Shaita Angels having played 14 matches and separated by just a single point, the battle for supremacy in the Upper Women’s League is shaping up to be one of the most fiercely contested in recent years.
